Where you'll be

Neighbourhood highlights
There are plenty of excellent places nearby for meals/snacks. The garden is shared with the hosts and is wildlife friendly – red squirrels, hares, deer, pheasants, rabbits, plus woodland and garden birds. The property is in the curtillage of Lendrick Muir which is an outdoor activity centre run by Scripture Union – apart from a small area around the buildings, the grounds are open to the public providing excellent walks, views and some mountain bicycle tracks. Nearby Rumbling Bridge gorge is worth a ramble. There are many areas of interest nearby (for example: Dollar museum, Castle Campbell, Muckhart Golf Course and Cowden Japanese Gardens). The Ochil Hills are a few minutes drive away, as is Gleneagles Golf Course, Auchterarder Town with its specialist shops, and Kinross with the attractions around Loch Leven.

Getting around

Although there is a bus service from Crook of Devon (about 1 mile away) to Kinross, you will probably need a car if you want to get about. Kinross has many amenities (Sainsbury’s supermarket, eating places, shops …) There are excellent walks around Loch Leven. Park at Loch Leven’s Larder or the RSPB centre and ride or cycle all or part of the 11 miles circumference. Bus to Perth and St Andrews from the Park and Ride in Kinross, for Edinburgh and Glasgow use Ferrytoll or Halbeath.
